Day 28

As our flight to Dubai isn't until 6pm this evening, we are slow to rise and collect ourselves. Once again I find myself on the front porch sipping ice tea and tucking into a chocolate and cheese sandwich, (odd I know, but chocolate and cheese is a thing here). A Canadian guy on the table next to us sparks up a conversation, he explains they'd just flown in from 3 months in Thailand, they fancied checking out Indonesia, asking us for any advice or suggestions.
The law student and oil rig engineer recite a very different experience in Thailand of that of ours in Indonesia. They narrate stories of smoking opium in bars whilst slurping mushroom milkshakes, resulting in having to pay $600 bribes each to Thai police in order to avoid the 18month jail alternative offered. They seemed very amused by the whole experience. Apparently the bars they were in on the whole thing, the bars call the cops once they've managed to sell enough drugs, then get a cut of the bribe.
The rest of the day is spent on planes and in airports. I abuse the free drinks, sucking up as many gin and coffees as I can get my hands on, stuffing some in my bag for later. I enjoy long haul flights - eat, drink, watch film, sleep and then repeat the process.

Biggest Mosque in South-East Asia.
